When I drive to fast and hit a wall
Or drink myself to the hospital
I'm the only one to blame
(Blame, blame, blame)
And as sirens haunt my city streets
And though that sound is after me
Calmly I await the change
(Change, change, change)
So don't wait
For the world to get better
You're gonna waste
The time you have
Ah, ah, and you won't get it back
When you fall
When you break
When you wish you didn't feel
Keep your head
Don't forget
It's the pain that makes us real
I know most of the time
It's hard to keep in mind
From lessons learned
Comes better life, better life
When I play too hard
And break my bones
Depress myself to the lowest lows
I'm the only one to blame
(Blame, blame, blame)
'Cause the choice is mine
And mine alone
And I choose to learn as I go
Clarity will come from pain
(Pain, pain, pain)
So don't wait
For the world to get better
You're gonna waste
The time you have
Ah, ah, and you won't get it back
When you fall
When you break
When you wish you didn't feel
Keep your head
Don't forget
It's the pain that makes us real
I know most of the time
It's hard to keep in mind
From lessons learned
Comes better life, better life
So don't wait
(Oh)
For the world to get better
So don't wait
(Oh)
For the world to get better
My understanding of
The world feels broken
And it's demanding
My immediate attention
You're looking up
Believing you will leave
Your problems below
Forget what you believe
Use what you know
(Use what you know)
When you fall
When you break
When you wish you didn't feel
Keep your head
Don't forget
It's the pain that makes us real
I know most of the time
(Most of the time)
It's hard to keep in mind
(Keep in mind)
From lessons learned
(Lessons learned)
Comes better life, better life
This album is pretty much a rollercoaster. Starting off with Desolate.Magnificent, it slowly builds up with it's ambient and foggy sound. You keep thinking to yourself "This is nice and all... but when does the rollercoaster even start?" when right at the 2:47 mark you get launched backwards. Great fucking album. Keep it up! It's ambient sections always help me relax and calm down, it's energetic sections... well energize me!! zo
Musically this feels more experimental for La Dispute reminding me of their Here, Hear releases. Very atmospheric and easy to lose your self in. Perfect for the next time you’re contemplating your existence. (Also found out the guitarist builds his own pedals and used them on this record; neato!) Mikey
